Willows which are also known as the sallows form the genus Salix and are found in 400 species of deciduous trees and shrubs.which are mainly found in moist soils in cold and temperate regions of the Northern hemisphere.

Willows are known to have abundant watery bark sap that is made with salicylic acid. They are soft, with tough wood and slender barks which are large and fibrous with stoloniferous roots. The roots are really tough and can live for a long life and they grow from the aerial parts of a plant. The leaves are elongated as well as oval and round with serrated edges. They are deciduous as well as semi evergreen with lateral buds.The color of the leaves change seasonally.
